“Youth Worker - Carmel Batson Finding Workable Solutions Inc. (FWS) is a not-for-profit community organisation concerned primarily with delivery of high quality employment support services for people with a disability. Support is provided to access jobs in the local community or to gain employment in one of the organisation’s successful social enterprises.
Employment Services Commonwealth funded Disability Employment Service program supports Job Seekers by connecting them to employers, jobs and training. FWS provides a case management service to determine the best pathway for jobseekers to achieve employment, education and vocational training goals. FWS Recruitment Services are a free service tailored to meet your business needs. Lodge a job vacancy with FWS and we will assist you with recruitment advice, suitable candidates and support to access a range of Commonwealth funded employer incentives.
Salvage & Save is a business initiative of FWS. Donated or salvaged goods are recycled and sold back into the community, by way of a low cost retail shop located at Waste Transfer Stations. Our salvage shop offers a wide range of second hand electrical goods, furniture, building materials, white goods, garden equipment and bric-a-brac. Not only is this initiative a great environmental solution for your community the ‘essence’ of what this services brings to a person with disability is an opportunity to work.
A service provided by FWS to the Kangaroo Island Community is the Centrelink Agency. If you need to connect with Centrelink, Medicare or Child Support you can use the free self-service computer, phone and fax facilities offered in the FWS office. We also provide face to face assistance, guidance and referrals, access to information and brochures and certification of documents required for the Department of Human Services. If you need this support, the Centrelink Agent is available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10am – 1pm or on Wednesdays between 2pm – 5pm.”
